Although Latin America is not a traditional market for e-commerce, according to the International Data Association , e-commerce sales reached only in Latin América 1 40 millions dolars in the last six years and online shopping is expected to grow a 25,4% by the end of the year 2018. Consequently, since 40% of millenials are more likely to go to physical stores and distrust online transactions, one of the biggest trend for e-commerce in 2018 is Transparency, defined as "the perceived quality of intentionally shared information from a sender”.

Millenials and generation Z are changing the game’s rules: they are not interested just in the

product, they purchase the whole brand and experience. In consequence, this is what you should be selling in order to captive them:

How your business started.

Storytelling is a key element for this new generation. They want to know how it all began, who are the minds behind the screen and what the label means to the owners. It´s almost the same feeling as when you go to a physical store and bump into the owner at the door.

Your brand has to inspire familiarity and trust.

Sustainability

Millenials are known as the “green generation”4 and if your brand is taking action against

environment impact you have to let them know that. Why? Because they will grow into loyal

costumers who will spend thousands of dollars in your brand just because they share they sense of social awareness and common interest.

Consumer experience and testimonies

All the information regarding the online shopping experience has to be on your website. Everything must be available 24/7 so buyers can go back and read the information many times as they need in order to make the purchase.
